Subjects, Groups, and Lessons¶
Subjects are the building blocks for lessons. Teacher mode can also use class groups, rooms, and cover lessons without making groups part of subject setup.
Create or edit a subject¶
- Open Subjects.
- Tap Add Subject, or tap an existing subject and choose edit.
- Enter the subject name.
- Choose an icon and color.
- Set notes, lesson reminder preference, and an optional default room.
- Tap Save.
Delete a subject¶
- Open Subjects.
- Open the subject editor.
- Choose Delete Subject.
- Confirm only if you also want to delete lessons and notes attached to that subject.
Subject rows can show the next lesson badge, teacher, room, or class/group details. In Teacher mode, class group labels help separate similar lessons, but reusable group management lives in Groups & Rooms, not in the subject editor.
Manage groups and rooms in Teacher mode¶
- Use Teacher mode.
- Open Groups & Rooms from the timetable or settings tools.
- Add a class group name, color, and optional default room.
- Archive old groups when you no longer teach them.
You can also type a one-off group or room directly on a lesson without saving it.
Add a lesson¶
- Open Timetable or a subject detail page.
- Tap the add button and choose a lesson option.
- Select the subject and, in Teacher mode, add a class group if needed.
- Set day, start time, end time, and repeat rule.
- Add room, teacher, reminders, and notes.
- Save the lesson.
Lessons are the main teacher allocation. A lesson can use a saved class group, keep a manual group name, use its own room, or fall back to a subject or group default room.
Change one lesson occurrence¶
- Tap the lesson in the Timetable.
- Choose an edit or action option for that occurrence.
- Move the time, change room or teacher, or add notes.
- Save.
Keep the repeating rule intact
If only one class instance changes, edit that single occurrence. Do not change the whole repeating pattern unless every future lesson should move too.
Cancel or restore a lesson¶
- Tap the lesson.
- Choose the cancel or call-off action.
- Confirm the change.
- To bring it back, open the cancelled occurrence and restore it.
Add a cover lesson¶
- Use Teacher mode.
- Open the timetable add options and choose the cover or substitute lesson option.
- Enter the temporary subject, optional class group, covered teacher, room, notes, and time.
- Leave prioritise enabled if the cover lesson should override an overlapping normal lesson.
- Save.
Cover lessons are typed events, so they stay separate from normal subject setup while still appearing in the timetable, daily summaries, notifications, widgets, Watch views, sync, and backups.
