iCloud Sync, Parent Sync, and Friend Sync

iCloud Sync backs up and syncs your own timetable across supported Apple devices. Parent Sync and Friend Sync also use invite codes, but shared timetable copies are read-only on the receiving device.

Enable iCloud Sync

  1. Open Settings and then Sync.
  2. Make sure the device is signed in to iCloud and has network access.
  3. Turn on iCloud Sync.
  4. If an existing iCloud backup is found, choose Import from iCloud or Replace iCloud with this device.
  5. Wait for sync to finish before closing the app.

Resolve a sync conflict

  1. Read the conflict prompt.
  2. Choose the iCloud version if another device has the correct timetable.
  3. Choose this device if the current device has the correct timetable.
  4. Let the app finish applying and uploading the chosen version.

Linked Devices in Advanced Settings shows devices that accessed the timetable through iCloud Sync. First launch can restore existing iCloud data when available.

Parent Sync: student shares with a parent

This workflow starts on the student's device. It gives the parent a read-only copy of the student's timetable.

Student: create an invite code

  1. Open ClassConnect S on the student's device.
  2. Open Settings and then Parent Sync.
  3. Tap Share with Parent.
  4. Tap Create Invite Code if it is not created automatically.
  5. Give the 8-digit code to the parent before it expires.
  6. When the parent accepts, name the parent device so you can recognize it later.

Student: resync or remove parent access

  1. Open Settings and Parent Sync or Linked Devices.
  2. Open the parent device detail.
  3. Use Resync with this parent if the app warns their copy is out of date.
  4. Use Remove Parent if that parent should no longer have access.

Parent copies are read-only

The student edits the source timetable and shares updates through iCloud. Parents cannot directly edit the student's lessons, subjects, events, or holidays.

Parent Sync: parent adds a student

  1. Open ClassConnect S on the parent's device.
  2. Choose Parent mode during onboarding, or open Add Shared Timetable from the profile switcher or Settings.
  3. Enter the student's 8-digit invite code.
  4. Tap Add Shared Timetable.
  5. Name the student profile and choose an icon or avatar.
  6. Tap Done.

Parents can add multiple student profiles. Parent Sync warnings appear when a student's shared copy may be stale.

Friend Sync

Friend Sync works like Parent Sync, but it is intended for students or friends who want to view each other's read-only timetables.

Share your timetable with a friend

  1. Open Settings and then Friend Sync.
  2. Tap Share with Friend.
  3. Create or display the invite code.
  4. Ask your friend to enter the code in ClassConnect S.
  5. After acceptance, name the friend device or profile for your records.

Add a friend's timetable

  1. Open Add Shared Timetable or Friend Sync.
  2. Enter your friend's 8-digit invite code.
  3. Name the friend profile and choose an icon.
  4. Choose whether to share your timetable back if prompted.
  5. Switch between My Timetable and the friend profile from the timetable switcher.

Friend timetables are read-only on your device. Reciprocal sharing requires the other person to accept before your timetable is added.
